We invite you to take part in the international scientifically practical conference «Buryat National «Altargana» Festival: history and results" in the framework of «Altargana–2014» festival, which will be held July 17, 2014 in settlement Dada of Khentii province of Mongolia.
The organizers are: the Government of Mongolia, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Education and Science, the Mongolian Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Buryat Studies, Buryat Cultural Heritage Development and Preservation Fund, Buryat State University (Russia), the Union of Young Scientists of Mongolia, National Committee of «Altargana-2014» Festival, Scientific Conference Organizing Sub-committee, the youth organization of Mongolia «Amintoont».
The purpose of the conference is to join efforts of the Mongolian, Russian and world specialists who are interested in the development of Buryat culture to define the roles and the values of the Buryat Festival «Altargana».
During the last 20 years since 1994 the international Buryat «Altargana» festival has been held every two years. The main purpose of the «Altargana» festival is preservation and promoting of ethnic culture and national sports of Buryat people, to show the best achievements in art, literature, cinema, sports as well as socio-economic development in the conditions of contemporary globalization and possible assistance to the process of revival, preservation and transformation of traditional culture.
This International Scientific Conference being held during «Altargana 2014» festival - the year of its jubilee, intends to pursue constructive scientific dialogue between scientists of Mongolia, Russia and other world specialists to define the role of «Altargana» festival in the development of national identity, in the preservation of ethnic culture and its integration into the contemporary world.

The «Altargana» festival: traditional mind and spirituality of Buryat-Mongols
The history of nomadic culture
Buryat traditional art and crafts: current state and prospects
Language, ethnic identity and originality of Mongolian people
Ethno-linguistic, ethno-historical and socio-political developments
Buryat folklore, literature and characteristic features of traditional culture
Traditional Buryat cattle breeding and its current state
The festival «Altargana» and traditional Buryat sports development
Economic thinking of the Mongolian ethnos, values and prospects
The Buryat-Mongols in the modern world
The requirements for reports are: the reports are to be scientifically grounded and processed with modern research methods, should have definite value for history, influence and tendencies of the «Altargana» festival development. All texts are to be presented in MS Word format with the following settings: paper size – A4, double-spaced, 2.54 cm (1 inch) margins on all sides, Arial type Times New Roman, font size – 12 pt. The first right side line is for the author’s name, font size – 12 pt, the second line below is for the country and the city. The article’s title is to be placed centered below bold font size – 12 pt, capitalized. The list of references is at the end of the article. The links in the text are to be made in square brackets with the indication of the source number according to the list and the page number. The summary (no more than 200 words) is to be attached in any foreign language.
For participation in the conference please send the application and report in the enclosed file (the author's surname_zayavka) on an e-mail address: burlitkaf@yandex.ru by latest June 1, 2014 the organizing committee is entitled to reject the reports that don’t meet the requirements. The admission fee for participation is 450 rub. Within several days in the response letter from the conference Organizing committee you will receive confirmation on compliance of quality and subject of the sent materials. Further on a prospective participant gets an e-mail with the requisites for payment, the admission fee and the invitation for registration Mongolian visa.
The visa registration, journey, accommodation fees are at the expense of the sending party. The additional information about the conference will be given in the following call for proposals.
