On February 7th, instructors, members and doctoral students of BSU assembled for the plenary session of a scientific conference honoring the day of Russian sciences. Pro-rector for scientific research I.K. Sharankhaev greeted those participating in the conference. As he pointed out, “the university has placed considerable attention on scientific research.
In 2013 the volume of money applied to research work comprised over 45 million rubles. Considerable financial support has appeared for scientific research, a serious number of academic conferences have gathered, including for students, work at scientific laboratories proceeds thanks to financial support, and special wages are given for basic research and other ends. In conclusion, Ivan Konstantinovich congratulated everyone on the Day of Science and wished them all creative success in their scientific endeavors. Additionally, the head of the research department at BSU Bair BatuevichDamdinov congratulated everyone on the Day of Science and announced the names of grant-winners from the university.
Later on, two professors gave presentations on their doctoral works. SerzhenaZhigmitovnaDugarovoi, a Doctor of History, discussed “the State and Law in Mongolia during the Middle Ages,” and AlekseiViktorovichMikhalev, a Doctor of Political Science, presented on “the New ‘Great Game’ as Neocolonial Discourse.”
At the end of the meeting, in accordance with tradition, all candidates who had defended their Doctoral and Candidate’s theses received awards.
