From March 18 to 21, as part of strengthening international cooperation, a delegation of students and faculty from the Etugen University of Traditional Medicine (Mongolia) visited the BSU Institute of Medicine.
These were five days filled with research, practice, and new experiences.
The guests learned about the history of our university, visited the scientific library, and the Center for Mongolian Culture. During a roundtable discussion at the Institute of Medicine, prospects for joint research and educational activities were discussed.
At the Center for Oriental Medicine (COM), Mongolian colleagues presented papers at the International Scientific and Practical Conference, focusing on acupuncture and herbal medicine. The meeting resulted in an agreement on mutual internships for faculty and students.
In addition to professional discussions, faculty from the Departments of Pharmacology, Clinical Pharmacology, and Biochemistry presented excursions to landmarks in Ulan-Ude. One day was dedicated to exploring the Ivolginsky Datsan and the Damba Darzha Zayaev Dashi Choinkhorlin Buddhist University. The delegation was greeted by the university's rector, Dymbryl Gurobazarovich Dashibaldanov. The Mongolian representatives learned about the student education system and visited the incorruptible body of Khambo Lama Itigelov, as well as the museum and Buddhist temples of the Ivolginsky Datsan. The delegation also visited the Goryachinsk resort, where they were introduced to the resort's rehabilitation methods, history, and structure. The Mongolian students and faculty will take unforgettable impressions and photographs from the shores of Lake Baikal, from a unique site near the village of Turka, featuring a stone turtle, ice hummocks, the endless snow-covered Baikal, and a blue sky.
Cooperation between our universities is becoming more promising, opening new horizons for students and science!
