On February 19, the BSU Confucius Institute held a master class on creating traditional Chinese New Year inscriptions—春联!

The event was timed to coincide with the celebration of Chinese New Year—春节—and Chinese Language Week at the BSU Oriental Institute. Confucius Institute instructors told participants about the history of Chinese New Year inscriptions, their symbolism, and their role in New Year traditions. After an inspiring introduction, everyone had the opportunity to try their hand at creating their own set of festive inscriptions—bright and filled with good luck wishes.
The atmosphere was truly lively, warm, and festive! We are delighted to see how enthusiastically students discover the richness of Chinese culture while learning the language.
Thank you to everyone who joined us today! May the Year of the Horse bring you good luck and prosperity!
春节快乐!恭喜发财!
