As part of international academic cooperation, students from the Oriental Institute of the Buryat State University named after D. Banzarov are undergoing a language internship at Xi'an International University.
Xi'an, a city with over three thousand years of history and once the starting point of the Great Silk Road, is today not only the custodian of a rich cultural heritage but also a space for active intercultural dialogue. Immersion in the language environment in such a city is particularly valuable: by studying Chinese, students are introduced to China's value system and cultural traditions; by immersing themselves in Chinese culture, they gain a deeper understanding of the Chinese way of thinking.
The Institute's long-standing academic exchange program confirms the high effectiveness of international language internships. Studying at Xi'an International University provides students with the opportunity not only to significantly improve their Chinese language proficiency but also to broaden their cultural horizons, understand traditional and modern aspects of Chinese society, and develop intercultural communication skills.
The language internship at Xi'an International University is not only a stage of the educational process but also an important step in developing the professional and personal competencies of students at the Oriental Institute.
We wish the students a successful and fruitful internship, new knowledge, and vibrant experiences!
Bayarma Murueva, student in group 04130:
"I would like to express my deep gratitude to our teachers and the institute's management. Thanks to their support, I was able to travel to Xi'an—the cultural and historical center of China. During the two-week internship, I learned a lot, overcame the language barrier, and made many new connections. I'm very glad I chose to intern in Xi'an, as it is truly a majestic city rich in history!"
Aryuna Dugarzhapova, student in group 04130:
"I still can't believe that the Oriental Institute gave us the opportunity to go to Xi'an for a language internship. I am eternally grateful to our teachers for this unique opportunity to be in China's historical capital. Every corner of this city has its own unique character, and this only makes studying Chinese culture more interesting."
When I arrived at Xi'an International University, I didn't even expect such intense language immersion. This will allow me to pass the HSK even earlier than I planned. The university campus feels like its own world, its own ecosystem: nearby are shops where everything is even cheaper than off-campus. As my mother used to say, a carefree student life is when life is comfortable and you're well-fed. Here, all factors are taken into account, and I feel at home.
I'd also like to point out that although our major is directly related to the main language—Korean—and Chinese is a second Asian language, here, thanks to the Korean students, I can also practice my Korean. Language.
My birthday also fell during our internship, which allowed me to celebrate in a new environment. I was able to celebrate among other international students. I can't deny that this birthday truly brought me happiness; from then on, I looked forward to every day with impatience.
I am very grateful to the Oriental Institute's directorate for giving us the opportunity to travel so far from home, and especially to our director, Vladimir Alexandrovich, and our Chinese language teacher, Victoria Viktorovna, who made our dreams come true!
