Today, May 16, BSU hosted the first training session for BSU Institute of Psychology (BIP) students with psychologists from the university's Psychological Services.
At the training session, students headed for practicum improved their emotional intelligence skills. This ability to recognize, understand and manage emotions is the basis for effective adaptation.
After all, in a short time a student needs to adapt to the peculiarities of the organization, future specialty, working conditions, new social environment.
In a game format they learned techniques of self-regulation, behavior in stressful situations. Participants noted in feedback that the ability to listen, adequately express and live their emotions improves the quality of relationships.
Emotional intelligence is not an inborn trait, but a skill that can be developed. Self-esteem, balancing boundaries, motivation - these and other issues are planned for the next trainings.
