The Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk visited BSU

On December 1, 2021 the Consulate General of Germany in Novosibirsk under the leadership of the Consul General Mr. Bernd Finke paid an official visit to Buryat State University. The meeting was substantive and informative. The Consul General noted that Banzarov Buryat State University has established itself as one of the central universities in the development and maintenance of international relations with German-speaking partners in the Siberian and Far Eastern consular district.

Mr. Finke stressed that one of the Consulate’s tasks is to support universities in the formation of a multilingual policy, in strengthening the position of the German language, in establishing cultural ties with German educational and scientific institutions, foundations and, mainly, the harmonious distribution of funding between central and regional districts. In this regard, he expressed his readiness to consider specific proposals from the university.

After the reception of the rector and the university leadership, the Consul General met with the students of BSU, studying German. The Consul General answered various questions of future German translators and teachers, spoke about consular activities, German education, and his personal attitude to the epidemiological situation in the world. He noted the high language level of our students. In turn, the students shared their impressions of participating in various projects, presented the results of their work.

The Consul General expressed his readiness to provide material and informational support to the university for implementing projects and thanked everyone for the warm welcome.
