From 9 to 18 December, the translators traditionally had the German Language Week, despite the current situation.

During the week, the 1st and 2nd year students participated in competitions, where they demonstrated their phonetic skills and knowledge of Christmas traditions in Germany. The 3rd year students attended master classes of the famous German translators Rosemarie Tietze and Eveline Passet, where they learned about the complexities and subtleties of literary translation. And during a training conference with the participation of Florian Truck, a master's student at the University of Vienna (Austria), the future German translators tested their consecutive interpretation skills.

The culmination of the Language Week was the “Weihnachtsstube im Zoom” (Christmas Lounge at Zoom), which took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Florian talked about Christmas traditions in Austria. And the students and teachers made videos with congratulations on the coming Catholic Christmas.

At the end of the event, Happy New Year greetings were heard in different languages. The students congratulated everyone in their native languages: German, Russian, Buryat, Tajik, Kyrgyz and Uzbek!

It was very interesting and informative!

Frohe Weihnachten und alles Gute im Neuen Jahr!
