BSU took part in returning Mongolian students home

Banzarov Buryat State University took part in the activities of the Mongolian Government on the return of Mongolian citizens abroad – students of higher educational institutions of Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities, as well as other categories of Mongolian citizens and members of mixed families. The total number of citizens who submitted information to the Mongolian consular posts for return was about 2,000. In accordance with the decision of the Mongolia Extraordinary Commission for Emergency Situations, a period for the foreign citizens export was determined – from May 11 to May 15, 2020.

Under the leadership of the Consulate General of Mongolia in Ulan-Ude and the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Buryatia, the university worked out the lists of leaving people, and on May 14, 2020 organized a centralized removal of Mongolian students by its own transport and provided them with two meals a day. Students safely crossed the Mongolian border, passed the COVID -19 test with negative results. Now they are in observatories, and after 3 weeks from the entry into Mongolia they will be able to return home.

The International Relations Department thanks everyone who participated in this action!
