The first Salon of Siberian universities in Paris (November 11-15, 2019), organized by the leading Siberian universities and included in the Trianon Dialogue program, has completed its work. Buryat State University was represented by the Head of French-German Department, associate professor Koreneva Marina Radievna. This event was supported by the Embassy of France in Russia, the Embassy of Russia in France, the Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Paris. Its purpose was to adequately introduce Russian universities to French partners, in particular, Russian educational programs and scientific potential.
The Salon was opened by the Russian Extraordinary and Authorized Ambassador in France Alexei Meshkov. Also at the grand opening there were the director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Paris Konstantin Volkov, the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo Mikhail Popov, the rector of MGIMO and the co-chairman of the civil forum "Trianon Dialogue" Anatoly Torkunov.
The Salon program included the “Siberia on Screen” session (university presentations), meetings with Siberian universities graduates, studying in France, inter-university agreements, the meet market, the poster session and round tables. Such issues as the research results of Russian-French educational cooperation, the Russian-French agreement on mutual diplomas recognition, the image improvement of Siberia among French applicants and students were discussed at the round tables. Also, the Siberian universities representatives had the opportunity to visit French universities campuses.
BSU was represented at all these events, including the meeting of graduates living in France; the poster of our university was one of the best.
On November 14 the leading TASS news agency (https://tass.ru/obschestvo/7110700), the information portal of the Russkiy Mir Foundation (https://www.russkiymir.ru/news/265060/), regional editions of Novosibirsk, Tomsk, Tyumen and the Republic of Sakha-Yakutia already transmitted the Salon news. They note that young French people are getting more interested in Russian higher education. The event is to promote our regional universities in France.
