Irkutsk State Medical University Professor expresses high opinion of BSU Medical Institute graduates

State Final Examination in Medicine as a major was held at the Medical Institute of D. Banzarov Buryat State University on June 27, as a result of which 72 doctors were awarded diplomas .

The Attestation Commission was headed by Evgeny Grigoriev, MD, Professor, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Hospital Surgery, Irkutsk State Medical University.

The Commission also included members of the Medical Institute faculty, head doctors of the local medical institutions: T. A. Simberova, A. R. Dambaeva, A. N. Plekhanov, and leading specialists of the Ministry of Healthcare.

The State Final Examination was carried out in the form of an interdisciplinary examination to give assessment to both theoretical and practical professional qualification, and is based on state requirements to the training level in this major. The final interdisciplinary exam was held in three stages: first stage – testing of theoretical competence; second stage – testing of practical skills; third stage – an interview to assess the ability to solve specific professional problems.

Chairman of the Commission Yevgeny Grigoriev noted that the training system of the BSU Medical Institute is based on modern teaching methods using situational clinical tasks. The Professor also noted a good level of training, knowledge and skills obtained by the graduates.

The state final examination of junior doctors was held on July 1. The examination was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Healthcare Natalia Logina. In total, 27 doctors were certified in majors: surgery, traumatology, endoscopy, anesthesiology-resuscitation, obstetrics and gynecology, physical therapy. In the future, junior doctors will be employed with the medical organizations of the Republic of Buryatia.

The University’s administration, Directorate and departments of the Medical Institute are constantly working to improve the system of training specialists with higher medical education in accordance with the regulating documents, Resolutions and Decisions issued by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and the Ministry of Healthcare.
