Students of Buryat State University will build a new hostel and buildings on lake Baikal

What do we consider when choosing a university? First of all, the quality of education, as well as good dormitories, educational buildings, and laboratories. After all, the quality of education depends on the material and technical base of the University.

Buryat State University provides students with comfortable lecture halls, dormitories, constantly improving the conditions of study and life for our students. For example, currently there is repair work going on at the sports complex in Kuibyshev street, in our dormitories, and some other buildings.

New student campus

According to BSU Rector Nikolai Moshkin, this year will see launching of a modern campus project: an 11-storey student dormitory designed for 406 people, including facilities for 20 residents with limited mobility. The total area of the building will exceed 8 thousand square meters. To provide a comfortable environment it will be equipped with a car park, walking paths, architectural elements, fencing, lighting, trees, lawns and flower beds.

BSU students enjoy an opportunity to study not only within the university walls, but also outdoors.

The University has its own camps: "Baikal" camp in Maksimikha and “Olympus” camp at Shchuchye lake. Both camps provide good opportunities for educational and research practice. Biology, zoology, geography students have their field practice and conduct research experiments there.

The camps are also venues for summer schools in mathematics, programming, languages. Scientists from different regions of Russia and from abroad come to scientific conferences here. Sport events and training sessions are traditionally held at these camps by Faculty of Physical culture, sports and tourism and by BSU sports teams.

This year the University has invested heavily in the camp on lake Baikal. Now there are three new buildings: a large modern canteen, a cottage for guests and a 2-storey comfortable building for students, equipped with everything you need, including new furniture and linens.

As you can see, social and living conditions in BSU are quite competitive compared to other universities.
