A delegation from Buryat State University, including BSU’s academic provost D.K. Chimitova and the director of the Institute for Confucian Studies, BSU L.L. Vetluzhskaya, visited the Minzu University of Nationalities in Beijing on December 4, 2013. Both sides pointed out that while specific departments are already working together in areas such as in the study of Mongolian language and literature, there are possibilities for even greater cooperation between the two universities. For example, Van Manduga, a professor from the Institute for the Mongolian language at the Minzu University of Nationalities came to Buryat State University to read a series of lectures and do research there in October of 2013. As of right now, plans for a similar visit by a professor from BSU to Minzu University are underway.
Participants in the discussion also considered other ways they could develop even greater forms of collaboration between the two universities.
