The World Congress of German studies and German language teachers, which took place in August 2013 in the age-old Italian city of Bolzano, was attended by more than 2,500 scientists and educators from 106 countries. The most representative of all regions of the Russian Federation in the Russian delegation was a group of teachers of the Buryat State University. Docent at the department of Translation and Intercultural Communication YA. Taraskina took the lead in the work of section "Problems of teaching grammar in heterogeneous groups". Docent at the department of German and French I. Trofimova spoke a report on "the road by walking: how to contribute to the preservation of identity and the development of intercultural competence in foreign language communication" at one of the breakout sessions of the Congress.
Director of the Center for Eurasian cooperation A. Karpov presented to the participants of the congress report "Shaping foreign language skills in nonlinguistic faculties through international academic projects". Docent at the department of German and French I. Dehert took part in the work of round table on the German language as a language of science and international cooperation.
Representatives of the Buryat State University within the Congress held numerous meetings with leading scientists and colleagues from other regions of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, the German-speaking countries (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), United States, United Kingdom, China, Japan, Mongolia, India, and set new benchmarks for more effective cooperation of Germanists from countries of Central and Pacific regions, as well as for innovative academic projects under the partnership agreements and scholarship programs of renowned international funds.
