The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language of the Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Mass Communications implements the following activities in the field of the Russian language:
- program of primary pre-University education;
- teaching Russian at the faculties (bachelor, specialist, master);
- language training;
- master's program "Russian as a Foreign Language";
- individual training in language courses;
- Russian language summer school;
- advanced training courses for foreign teachers of the Russian language;
- professional retraining programs "Theory and Practice of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language (250 hours)";
- preparation for testing (A1-C1 Levels).
Our professors teach Russian to international students from different countries: China, Mongolia, The Republic of Korea, Japan, the USA, Germany, India, Finland, France and other countries.
The Center of the Russian Language Testing for Foreign Citizens established at the RFL Department tests international students for a State Certificate of Russian as a Foreign Language on all proficiency levels. The Center gives confirmation of the language proficiency necessary for obtaining the Russian Federation citizenship.
The RFL Department organizes annually cultural programs for international students by getting involved students of BSU. The cultural program includes visits of historic and cultural exhibitions, Ulan-Ude tours and rest on Baikal.
The RFL Department also cooperates with the largest universities of Mongolia, China, The Republic of Korea and other countries.
