The Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology is the only university in the republic that trains teachers with higher education and closely cooperates with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Bashkortostan and municipal authorities. The Institute employs highly qualified faculty and conducts research on current issues of modern education, such as training teachers and workers for the preschool and primary education system, music and technological education and vocational training, didactics of secondary and higher education, problems of management and training of highly qualified personnel. Research is conducted in the field of psychological support of an individual at different age stages, consultative psychology, psychology of professional activity in a multicultural environment and practical ethnic psychology, features of managing the social protection system of the population in the context of modernization of modern societies, research of young families and much more.

The Institute conducts scientific research on the problems of pedagogy and childhood psychology, the history of school development and pedagogical science in Buryatia, and ethnopedagogical developments are underway. The team of scientific staff provides great assistance to the modern school: in organizing conferences, seminars, advanced training, publishes works for children and school teachers. The latest publication - the educational and methodological set "Baikal Chest", prepared by scientists of the institute was awarded the State Prize of the Republic of Buryatia in the field of education.
