College

The College of the Buryat State University is a dynamically developing secondary vocational educational institution with an established intellectual potential and all the conditions for the formation of professional specialists with a high educational culture.

The BSU College traces its history back to 1999, when the University began training lawyers in secondary vocational education programs. Later, the range of specialties of secondary vocational education was expanded and a structural division of the University was created - the BSU College.

Over these years, the College has successfully passed the formation period and is now one of the leading institutions of secondary vocational education in the region, having trained over 4,000 graduates.

Currently, the College has more than 1,300 students studying full-time and part-time, on the basis of grades 9 and 11, not only from the Republic of Buryatia, but also from the Irkutsk Region, the Trans-Baikal Territory, the Republic of Tyva, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and other regions.

Students study on a budgetary basis in the following specialties from the Top 50 list: Information systems and programming (Web design), Installation, maintenance and repair of biotechnical and medical devices and systems, Technology of analytical control of chemical compounds.

Students study on the federal budget in the following specialties: Computer systems and complexes, Information systems and programming, Geological survey, prospecting and exploration of mineral deposits, Tourism and hospitality, Land management, Adaptive physical education, Correctional pedagogy in primary education, Pedagogy of additional education, Economics and accounting (by industry). In 2024, training will begin in the specialty: Jurisprudence.

Students study on a contractual basis in the following specialties: Law and organization of social security, Law and judicial administration, Banking.

All educational programs have been developed jointly with the institutes, faculties and departments of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education “Buryat State University”. This allowed us to transfer and implement many university traditions in the college, and to give the educational process a university orientation.

Based on the Federal Law “On Education”, graduates of the BSU College are admitted to the bachelor’s degree program based on internal exams at universities instead of the Unified State Exam. Those admitted on the basis of a secondary vocational education diploma can write an application to reduce the term of study by 1 year in the bachelor’s degree program by recertifying the disciplines of the secondary vocational education program. Graduates of the BSU College are provided with the maximum discount on tuition fees when continuing their studies in the bachelor’s degree program at the Buryat State University.
