A public lecture was held at BSU by Morris (Yumsunova) T.B., Doctor of Philology, Honorary Professor of the University of Oregon (USA)

On October 14, 2021, a public lecture "One's and another's word in the dialects of the Oregon older generation Old Believers" was held by Morris (Yumsunova) Tamara Baldanovna, Doctor of Philology, Honorary Professor of the University of Oregon (USA). This scientific event was organized by the Institute of Philology, Foreign Languages and Mass Communication.

T.B Morris is a well-known researcher in the field of Old Believer dialects in Russia and the United States, a graduate of the Buryat State Pedagogical Institute named after Dorzhi Banzarov (Banzarov Buryat State University). She is an honorary Professor of the Faculty of Russian Studies, Eastern European and Eurasian Studies at the University of Oregon (USA).

The lecture was devoted to the vocabulary, native and borrowed from the English language. The professor told about the history of the Oregon Old Believer dialects, the current state and the vocabulary genetic basis of these dialects. There was a live dialect speech of Russian settlers sounded in the video recordings. The audience was involved in the lecture from the very first minute.

Banzarov Buryat State University expresses its deep gratitude to Pr. Morris and hopes for further fruitful cooperation in new projects.
