Since March 1, 2003, Buryat State University has the Russian Language Testing Center for Foreign Citizens.

Testers are teachers of Russian as a foreign language who have passed special courses at RUDN University, Moscow State University, and St. Petersburg State University.
At the Testing Center foreign citizens can pass an examination to obtain a basic, elementary, first, second, third, fourth level certificate, as well as the Russian language skills certificate, which is necessary for receiving Russian citizenship. The Testing Center also provides the assembled examination in the Russian language, the Russian history and the Russian Federation basic legislation for foreign citizens wishing to obtain a work permit, a temporary residence permit or a residence permit.

Examination schedule
Assembled examination (a patent, a temporary residence permit or a residence permit), Russian citizenship, and the Russian language testing (by appointment):
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 13:30;
Thursday – 09:00.
You should come to the exam 30 minutes before the test, without delay.
The following documents must be provided for passing a test in the Russian language, the Russian history and the basic legislation of the Russian Federation:

A foreign citizen is admitted to the exam only with a paid invoice. Details for payment are available in the Testing Center registration office. Payment for testing services is made at any bank.

If a candidate received an unsatisfactory result for one subtest, he may be tested again within two years. If a candidate received an unsatisfactory result for two or more separate subtests, he again passes the test (all 5 subtests) at the full cost of the test.
1 subtest retake is 50% of its total cost.

If you fail to pass the exam, the first retake for you will be free of charge, provided that it is no earlier than 10 (ten) days after the first exam.
