Department of Political and Social Studies

The Department was founded in 1991 and it was one of the first departments of Political and Social Studies in the country. At present, the Department is one of the important educational and research centers in the region.

Majors, Specializations and Degree Programs:

Political Science: Comparative Political Science, Political Regional Studies and Ethnopolitics – Bachelor’s Degree.
Political Science: Political Regional Studies and Ethnopolitics – Specialist Degree until 2010.
Political Science: Comparative Political Science, Political Regional Studies and Ethnopolitics – Master’s Degree.
Social Science: Social Theory and Applied Social Studies – Bachelor’s Degree.

Research Areas:

Political Institutions and Processes in the Region (supervisor - E.D. Dagbaev);
Social Communities and Groups, Ethnic and Social Processes, Community Social Structure (supervisors - E.D. Dagbaev., Y.B. Rabdalov).
